Julian Montoya - Founder
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1989. After a career as an attorney with the Colombian government, I pursued my passion for the arts by studying woodworking at the Santo Domingo Art and Crafts School, focusing on woodcarving.
In 2019, I moved to Miami, Florida, and later to Sacramento, California, where I continued woodcarving and exhibited my work in several galleries and a woodcarving magazine.
In 2022, a devastating fire destroyed my home and studio, along with my art pieces and tools. This loss made me reflect deeply on my passions and realize my enduring love for photography and videography. Even during my university years, I took elective photography classes and enjoyed documenting my woodcarving process.
Rising from the ashes of that fire, much like a phoenix, I discovered a renewed sense of purpose. In early 2023, I joined a local company as a wedding photographer and videographer, where I honed my skills and reaffirmed my love for capturing moments. This passion and resilience led me to establish my own photography and videography company, Phoenix.
Phoenix symbolizes my journey of transformation and rebirth, embodying the changes and growth that have brought me to where I am today.
